Beginning with an on-deck discussion of backstroke, Eddie Reese shares a technical breakdown of the stroke, how he coaches it, and what he looks for in a successful backstroke. Next, with a full stroke demonstration featuring 2X Olympian Nate Dusing, Eddie breaks down the stroke mechanics including a look at the changes in the stroke as it is swum faster. Coach Reese next takes you through eight drills he uses to enhance backstroke technique and performance that facilitate correct body alignment and movement as well as enhance arm movement and the kick, both flutter and dolphin. Reese proceeds by showing seven of the most common errors that he sees with swimming the backstroke and offers the drills and techniques that he uses to correct the errors. He then breaks down the turn and breakout and the start and breakout. Throughout the video, underwater and slow motion footage greatly enhance the instruction.
